THE HELLACOPTERS Planning Live Album, Movie
November 7, 2008Swedish rock and rollers THE HELLACOPTERS — the band fronted by former ENTOMBED drummer Nicke Andersson (on guitar/vocals) — have issued the following update:
"It's been a week since our last[-ever] shows at Debaser, Stockholm and we'd like to say thank you very much to all of you who came out and made it such a memorable last weekend. We had no way of knowing what it would be like to end it like this but it really feels like we did the right thing. The same goes for all of you who rocked out with us on the last tour. We're more than grateful for all the support you've been showing us throughout the years. We couldn't have done it without you so again, thank you! It means everything to us.
"We'd also like to say thanks to our fellow bands that made this last tour so great: BLOODLIGHTS, BOOZED, DEMONS and THE DATSUNS. If you missed out on any of these guys (god forbid) then DO check 'em out.
"BUT you're not gonna be rid of us just yet. We still have stuff to do. A live album from the last tour is in the works and there's people working on some sort of a movie. As of now we have no idea of what the movie will be like, but it will include a live show from one of the last concerts."
The last four shows ever by THE HELLACOPTERS, which were held on October 25 and October 26 at Debaser Medis in Stockholm (the group played two shows per day),were webcast in high definition on MySpace.
THE HELLACOPTERS released a new single, "Darling Darling", on September 5 with exclusive B-side "Baby Come". It was made available as a CD-single and on seven-inch vinyl.
The group's "final" studio album, a collection of covers entitled "Head Off", was released in April. The CD, which entered the Swedish national chart at position No. 4, was once again produced by Chips Kiesby (THE NOMADS, SATOR, THE TURPENTINES) and mixed by Henryk Lipp.
